Dental emergencies could be as minor as an unexplained toothache to a lost tooth, and may include:

How to Take Action
Once you contact our team and schedule a visit, you can take action to help minimize discomfort and prevent complications until we can see you and offer treatment. You can always take an over-the-counter pain reliever to ease discomfort, and other tips include:
- Broken tooth: If a tooth is broken try to recover any pieces to bring with you. If this isn’t possible, we can still repair your tooth. You should rinse with warm water and use gauze or cloth to control the bleeding. With a cold compress, you can minimize facial swelling.
- Knocked-out tooth: When a tooth is knocked out, retrieve it quickly. Pick it up by the crown, never touch the root. Rinse away dirt but take care not to remove any tissue. Place it in a sealed container of milk or salt water. You can also return it to the socket and bite down gently to hold in place.
- Loose crown: If a restoration is lost, then place it in a cool place to keep it from changing shape. Avoid very hot to cold foods and drinks, and items high in sugar, as the exposed tooth is very sensitive.
- Toothache: If a tooth hurts or has something caught between it, gently floss on either side and rinse with warm water.
