Elective Treatments for a Stunning Smile

We have been safely “whitening” our patients’ smiles for many years. Our at-home bleaching system has been proven safe and effective by peer-review research, offering a cost-effective solution to teeth stains. We do not offer in-office whitening procedures because these procedures use a high-concentration of peroxide, causing discomfort and less-satisfying results.

Most patients’ smiles can be “whitened” even after years of coffee, tea, or soda drinking. Your results will depend on the cause and severity of your discoloration. Many people have tried over-the-counter teeth whitening products. If you have found success with store bought whiteners, then congratulations! If you have been disappointed, then we encourage you to try our professional teeth whitening system, which boasts a greater concentration of the same active ingredient.

If you are a patient who has whitened your teeth but still are not quite satisfied with your overall appearance then check out our porcelain veneer column. Veneers offer a solution for even the most stubborn teeth stains.

Porcelain Veneers

There is nothing like a terrific smile to enhance one’s mood. Deep down inside you really want to smile because that ‘s who you are or who you want to be. For those of you who want to improve your smile, porcelain veneers are an excellent time-tested method of whitening/straightening your anterior teeth.

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of a hardened ceramic material that are bonded to your anterior teeth. We carefully and gently prepare your teeth to accept the veneers. We only remove a very thin layer of tooth enamel so the proper color and shape can be attained. We have been using a “high end” dental lab a number of years to actually fabricate the veneers and ensure lifelike color, shape, and surface textures. Our patients’ results have been consistently excellent.

When a tooth is extensively decayed or is cracked, a crown is often needed to restore proper function. If a tooth has been patched together with multiple silver fillings, a crown can prevent future breakage or address any dental damage.

Crown materials vary. We primarily use tooth-colored materials to fabricate a crown. All-porcelain crowns have become quite popular in the past several years and the long-term data shows that this type of crown is an excellent restoration. In fact, the fit and strength of the all-porcelain crowns rival that of older porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and in some cases the fit and strength are superior. We also offer crowns that are made of porcelain-fused-to-gold alloys and gold-alloy materials. We may also place a gold crown on a posterior tooth that might be subjected to extreme bite pressures.

White Fillings

In the past, silver amalgam was used as a cost-effective way to repair a decayed tooth. Today, when a tooth requires a conservative filling, we place a metal-free tooth-colored restoration instead. Today’s “white” fillings are both strong and long-lasting. Feel free to ask us about white fillings today.
